One of my favorite rallye cars
This oldschool VDO tachometer was in the car when I bought it. This will stay with the project!
The dash in the donor car. In very good condition.

The watercooled engine has moved out. No more water for this fighter.

The donor; a 1974 1303, will have to donate some parts for my project. A pristine dash and speedometer, front and rear suspension, rear clip, mirrors, wire loom, door and hood handles and other useful parts.  It has already donated its sprintstars to my rallye car. This one used to be a "Porsche-looker" in the 80s, and had some ugly fiberglass parts attached to it. Anyway, it will prove useful for my rallye project.

The seats that came with the car were these awesome 70s RECAROs. They will be swapped with a pair of 70s Scheel racing seats, but the RECAROs will be in reserve. The door panels were in awesome shape.

Fenders were donated from a fellows 1974 1303. Almost totally rust and dent free, these fenders are perfect for this project. The best thing is that they were free! As were the swedish spec bumpers with integrated headlight washers.

Der winterwagen

The front suspension is shot....It will for sure need replacement

The color of the car is nice....the air vents however...aren`t

The ATS rims are gone. Genuine sprintstars have now found their place.

These mirrors were hot in the 80s
The trim had been removed at some point. I have not decided wether to keep it trimless, or put the trim back on
The 9" ATS rims were neat, but did not fit into my plans
Two different decklids came with the car. The decklids will be painted satin black
A removable rear end will be fabricated
The watercooled engine will be sold. A turbo conversion kit was also included in the deal, and will be sold too.

The rear end will be swapped with solid and rust free one from a 1973 1303 parts car. The present rear end is hacked up and modified to accept the 2,1 liter watercooled engine.
I have long been searching for a proper project for a 70s style rallye car. It had to be cheap, it had to be a 1303S, and it had to have a sunroof. In october 2012 I found a good candidate. It was located  quite near my parents house, and I went to look at it an early saturday morning. It had been customized during the 80s, and had 9" rear and 7" front ATS rims, plastic fenders, welded trim holes etc. Best of all: It had a pair of totally awesome 70s RECARO seats. It had a watercooled 2,1 liter engine in the rear, but the conversion was (luckily) never completed. As a result of this engine swap, the engine compartment was hacked up in order to make place for the 2,1. The car was also lowered. It has some rust issues, but not too bad either.  The ATS rims will be sold and a set of 5,5 inch sprintstars will replace the ATSs. A 1303 parts car will donate some donor parts for this project. I have also collected some parts for this project over the last years. A Type 181 army transmission will be used for this project, and a 2442 Fuelinjected Type1 engine will find its place into the rear. The car had papers that stated it had been approved with 7" and 9" rims as well as a "dual carbed engine".
